Welcome

Hi. I'm a scholar-practitioner at the intersection of artificial intelligence, intelligence analysis, and social science. I’ve spent twelve years building and deploying AI-based systems for National Security agencies with a parallel career teaching analytic methodology, AI literacy, and technical methods to both graduate students and senior professionals. My research interests center on the metacognitive aspects of engaging with emerging technologies, and how intelligent systems and virtual environments reshape the conditions under which individuals reason, learn, and participate in civic life. In addition to my professional work, I am an avid gamer, international traveler, and chef, with interests spanning worldbuilding, global cuisines, and immersive storytelling.

"Once you see the boundaries of your environment they are no longer the boundaries of your environment."

Merigold Analytics

Merigold Analytics is a boutique firm operating at the intersection of artificial intelligence, intelligence analysis, and technical design. We are a non-traditional contractor serving the Intelligence and Defense communities by bringing precision, creativity, and technical tradecraft to complex mission challenges. Our work spans AI and emerging tech implementation, agentic systems, training, design, and architecture—all grounded in a philosophy that values curiosity, method, and innovation.

The future is not discovered — it is built.

Teaching

Across a 12 year teaching career, I’ve addressed undergraduate students, graduate students, and senior professionals in both synchronous and asynchronous environments. I believe that the mark of a good professor is the ability to expand the mind and broaden the knowledge base. This is done most effectively through inviting, answering, and asking questions, rather than delivering material. We focus more on the metacognitive aspects of learning, critical thinking, and productive friction with new concepts than on raw transmission of content. Throughout my academic career, I have had the pleasure of teaching: AI Literacy, Machine Learning Basics, Advanced Data Visualization, Data Analysis, Cybersecurity & Cyber Intelligence Methods, Graph Analytics & Social Network Analysis, Agentic Systems Design, Capstone Research courses, and many introductory survey courses in Intelligence Studies, Linguistics, Computation, and Emerging Technology.
